The following local residents were named to the Dean's List at Ithaca College for the spring 2013 semester.

Miami University students who are ranked in the top three percent of undergraduate students within each division for second semester 2012-13 have been named to the president's list recognizing academic excellence.

The following students from Colgate University were recipients of the Dean's Award for academic excellence during the 2013 spring term at Colgate University. To be eligible for the Dean's Award, a Colgate student must achieve a minumum 3.30 average while enrolled in at least four courses.

Area students were recently named to the President's List for outstanding academic achievement during the spring 2013 semester at SUNY Canton. "Congratulations to our President's List students for the Spring Term 2013! The Provost, deans, faculty and I are very proud of the way you applied your best efforts to the semester's coursework," said SUNY Canton Acting President Joseph C. Hoffman. "The work ethic and the enthusiasm for learning you develop here at the College will serve you well in your professional careers after graduation." To receive President's List honors, full-time students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 827 students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Spring 2013 semester. The SUNY Potsdam students have been honored for earning top marks by Interim President Dr. Dennis L. Hefner.

Recently the Champlain College Theatre put on a riveting performance of the William Shakespeare tragedy, "Hamlet." The show, which took place over Feb. 13-16 & Feb. 20-23 was a collaboration between Champlain students/faculty and local Burlington actors.

The following students from the Colgate University Class of 2015 have been inducted into the Colgate chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, the national scholastic honorary society that recognizes the outstanding academic achievement of first-year students. The approximately 180 students who received the prestigious distinction for having earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the 2011-2012 academic year were honored at a fall banquet.
